The pain of breeding

So...yeah. I just bought a new horse slot today and I tried to get a new horse obviously but I didn't get any pretty horses with good stats and now I don't have any carrots left. I really hate the breeding at the moment because it is 100% random and even though it isn't bad I would like there to be some logic because that is what they have told us. It is really annoying when you have raced for whole day to get carrots and when you try to breed a nice horse you lose all that.
